“But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that this day should overtake you like a thief.” 1 Thessalonians 5:4
June 23, 2017
The Revelation 12 Sign, the Great Sign in Heaven, is gaining attention and with that it is now getting rebuke from popular Bible teachers. The trouble is their arguments against the sign have proved shallow and hollow. They are cursory dismissals because it is believed “no one can know the day or hour” and yet it’s hard to argue against the plain facts. Since the sign cannot be found to replicate itself for at least another thousand years and it comes to a specific day such as this September 23, 2017, that poses a huge problem for them. And so come the dismissals since it has to be impossible that we might see the Day of the Lord approaching with even a specific time in view.
But wait a minute. What about these Scriptures? Do they really provide the permission or even command to know?
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25
But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 1 Thessalonians 5:4-6
Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. Revelation 3:3
Yes, those who are in the light of truth will know, if they watch–if they are looking for the coming of our Lord.
Tucked deep within the Book of Revelation is the Great Sign in Heaven for all to read and see. It is a revelation of what is to come and it was given to us to know what to look for in the heavens. Consider this:
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John. Revelation 1:1
When Jesus said “no one knows the day or hour” in Matthew 24, it is true that none of the disciples knew then or even later. However, this is also a figure of speech referring to the day “no one knew the day or hour” to be understood as the Feast of Trumpets. But, when Jesus speaks of the end times in Matthew 24, he does not refer to the Rapture, but to the Second Coming at the end. Those with access to the Book of Daniel will be able to count the days to pinpoint the Second Coming. Not knowing then was to only be a temporary state. So people can know. How? They know by watching for that is what Jesus commanded us to do. He said so after the Olivet discourse. So we watch and by His Revelation we are confronted with this Great Sign of Revelation 12:1-2 on this September 23, 2017.
So then, where is the caution? Why does the sign have to be dismissed with such carelessness? Would it not behoove us to pay attention to what looks to be the change of the ages? If this is not the Great Sign, then what is it? No one has been able to offer any other explanation other than this is not it. If it isn’t, what is the correct interpretation? What other thing shall we be looking for, if this is not it? I have seen nothing else offered.
The truth is the Great Sign of the Woman going into labor in the heavens being clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, having a crown of 12 stars, and being with child happens this year on the Sabbath of Return no less. The timing is impeccable, as if it was planned before the beginning of time. It occurs two days after the Last Trump during the Feast of Trumpets. People have searched both before and after this year and the only replication that can be found is in 3915 BC. It is amazing, yes, it is Great!
However, it is gaining little traction in the overall scheme of things because it is being dismissed too easily. True, this kind of speculation causes many to worry that they might be shown wrong, but the simple facts are right there and they shouldn’t be run over with reckless abandon.
But why is this sign being so quickly dismissed as if there is nothing else going on? The trouble is we are not living in a vacuum free of other signs spoken of in the Bible. We are at 70 years since Israel became a nation once again in its own land. We are 100 years (law of first mention of a generation in the Bible in the story of Abraham is 100) after the the height of World War 1 when “nation rises against nation and kingdom against kingdom”. We are 120 years since Zionism was also founded. We are 50 years since Israel regained Jerusalem and there is more. No, we are not in a vacuum. We are on borrowed time. Please look through all of the other articles on this website because in symphony we come to this present year. The Great Sign of Revelation 12 is simply the icing on the cake.
With all of these things, is it logical or even spiritually acceptable to be so dismissive? I don’t think so.
Considering all of these things, can we not at least be cautious and admit this may be the time?
Is not the Bible the infallible Word of God? Even if this interpretation of Revelation 12 proves faulty, does not the Bible still stand?
All that seems to be at risk is our lack of faith in what has been written for us. Caution seems to be thrown to the wind in order to live life as it has been from the beginning of Creation. The truth is Jesus is coming back, we are to watch for Him, and we should be able to do so. Those who say we cannot are the ones running the risk.
